The 5th Annual Winnipeg International Burlesque Festival

Queen Qwan returns this year! Last year they came to Winnipeg to debuted their first international performance with us, within 24 hours of landing they were on the news, turning heads and ended up being the festivals fan favourite, literally! After our festival they continued traveling, building up their costumes and routines and won the highest honour in the world of burlesque. Qween made it on the Top 50 list for Most Influential Burlesque Performers for the first time AND PLACED FIRST!!! We are so thrilled for Qween and want to continue being a part of their rise to fame, so we are welcoming them this year as a 2025 headliner.

Plus, we have Montreal dream team Joy Rider and Kozmic Skater joining us. Joy Rider,  the Fast & Luxurious,  is a Filipino- Canadian, raised on the prairies and very excited to perform here for the first time! She's a 3x winner at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender in Las Vegas. She uses her signature blend of glamour, power, storytelling, and sensuality to create acts about identity, queerness, struggle and joy. On Saturday night she's performing a duet with 4x champion roller skater, Cirque du Soleil performer Kozmic Skater.

WIBF News….After much thought, I've made the difficult decision to postpone the next Winnipeg International Burlesque Festival until 2027. I love the burlesque community and I love Winnipeg, but I need time to get better. Managing an event of this scale, on my own, with so many moving parts has been a challenge, especially having ADHD and dyslexia. I'll be using this time to perfect our systems, and improve as a producer so future events are better for everyone. Thanks so much for the support! I’ll miss this terribly. SOLD OUT 😭WHAT A REMARKABLE WEEKEND!!!! From the performers and the patrons, what we heard the most is how they needed this! How not just feeling accepted, but strongly encouraged made them light up! Over 20 Burlesque performers coming together with unique backgrounds and experiences, who have created their routines, and in many cases even their costumes. Standing in the lights on that stage and for less than 5minutes give us everything they have. In return we feel it, we love it, we cheer them on, chant their names, feel every bit of passion they brought to the festival! It’s my second year producing WIBF, I’m so proud of how the team worked together and how the talent really got to know each other. We learned a lot again this year. Everything went smoother, but I know we still have areas to improve on. I have areas to improve on and I appreciate people that have helped me get better.
